On June 16,2013 Vietnamese police defrocked/tortured Khmer-Krom monk Ven. Ly Chanda of Prey Chop Temple in Lai Hoa, Vinh Chau, Soc Trang province. June 20,2013 Venerable Thach Thuol and Abbot Temple Lieu Ny of Ta Set temple (Soc Trang-Khleang province) defrocked and imprisoned in Prey Nokor (Saigon) city by the Viet authorities. In Phnor Dach (Cau Ngang) district, Preah Trapang/Tra Vinh) Khmer Krom prohibited from watching Cambodian TV signals.

NEWS ALERT:  THREAT OF ARREST ON MR. SON SOCHEAT IN KHLEANG (SOC TRANG)

Khleang (Soc Trang) - A Khmer Krom local, named Mr. Son Socheat, at Sarey Tamueon hamlet, Tamueon (Vien Binh) commune, Tran De district, Khleang (Soc Trang) province was summoned to a district office by the Vietnamese authorities.  


The claims against Mr. Son Socheat are based on his ongoing contacts with a Khmer Krom overseas human rights organization named KKF based in the U.S., and with the VOKK news media also based in the U.S., in order to report human rights abuses from homeland (the Mekong Delta) grossly committed by the Vietnamese authorities.  


The Vietnamese authorities has issued a warrant for his arrest if Mr. Son Socheat does not cease his contacts with the overseas organizations and independent news outlet.  The warrant also described to Mr. Son Socheat the details on how the Vietnamese authorities would treat him during his time in incarceration such as by lethal injections and be locked up in dark and narrow cell. 

Mr. Son Cheat has appealed to foreign governments and international media for assistance in seeking justice for his fight for human rights for Khmer Krom locals and all others in the Mekong Delta.
